Standing Liberty Quarter Value Guide

Minted from 1916-1930

The Standing Liberty Quarter was minted from 1916 to 1930, featuring a design by renowned sculptor Hermon A. MacNeil. The obverse displays Lady Liberty standing with a shield and an olive branch, while the reverse features an eagle in flight.

The Standing Liberty Quarter is highly regarded for its beautiful design and historical significance.

During its relatively short mintage period, the Standing Liberty Quarter underwent a major design change in 1917, resulting in two distinct types.

Type I features a bare-breasted Liberty and no stars below the eagle on the reverse, while Type II has Liberty wearing chainmail and three stars below the eagle. The 1916 issue is the rarest and most valuable of the series, highly sought after by collectors for its low mintage and historical importance.
