Barber Dime Value Guide

Minted from 1892-1916

The Barber Dime, also known as the Liberty Head Dime, was minted from 1892 to 1916, with a design by Charles E. Barber, the sixth Chief Engraver of the U.S. Mint.

The obverse displays a portrait of Lady Liberty wearing a Phrygian cap, while the reverse features a wreath surrounding the denomination. The Barber Dime is a classic American coin, valued for its historical significance and elegant design.

Barber Dimes were minted at the Philadelphia, New Orleans, San Francisco, and Denver mints, providing collectors with a variety of mint marks to collect. Some key dates in the series include the 1894-S, one of the most famous and rarest coins in U.S. numismatics, with only 24 pieces minted.

Another notable rarity is the 1895-O, which is exceptionally challenging to find in high grades. Barber Dimes present collectors with a relatively achievable goal of completing a full set while still offering the excitement of hunting down rare issues.
